Diwali….The festival is around the corner and the most amazing people in town have stocked up with crackers and candles in their shell accompanied with unique interior decors and decked up beautifully to embark the footprints of our dearest Goddess Laxmi and made Lord Ganesha reside in their till the next Deepawali.

Well, Well, Well this is not the limit yet. There is more to Diwali and as questioned “Lights, Selfies, Crackers, and Food. The main answer lies in an exquisite blend of flavors served in sweets, snacks, and dishes. Indian Spices have left no stones unturned to savior the flavor tuning in our taste buds. The aroma from the kitchen has left mouth watering and hearts left greedy. Driving from home to home the tradition of exchanging sweets from corporate to neighbors, friends, and relatives still continues by sending in love in the form of a variety of sweets, dishes, and snacks. Local vendors and big brands like “Haldirams” have penetrated deep in the market making the tongues drooling out.

The Marwari way of celebrating its new year unfolds the leash of celebrating Diwali right from its native Rajasthan which is spread in different continents of the world. No matter what the authenticity of Marwaris and their food will make you enter their houses knocked.

The Rajasthani Mawa Kachori is made of fine refine oil and leaves a pure taste to the taste-buds. Ghewar, a dish mainly cooked in maida tastes it best when cooked in ghee. This disc-shaped dish is mainly served with rabri or malai. Cooked with almond flour this Diwali binge Badam ka Halwa sets an appealing taste to the taste-buds. It is eaten in winter to keep the body temperature warm.

Balushahi, The Indian doughnut which is dense soft from inside and crumbly from inside makes one enter the kitchen without wasting a second or so.  Churma Laddoos are perfect for Diwali. They are made from whole wheat flour or atta with desi ghee stuffed. To satisfy one's soul you need to have a lot of patience to get the desired flavor and appreciation. Kanji Vada a dish- perfect for digestion which comes in a drink cum snack form. Kanji is a very flavorful and non-alcoholic Rajasthani fusion. The vada’s basic preparation is of lentils. 

Dil Khushal (Besan Ki Barfi) a dish from the word itself which makes millions of heart happy is prepared with ghee and results in an amazing aroma. Sweets are just a climax to Diwali, like Christians celebrate their big day popularly known as Merry Christmas in the same way Marwaris shelter snack, dessert, and confectionaries in their nest.

 Marwaris have an authentic format of preparing their dishes, Right from pickles to food, Marwari’s leave a spellbound yet throat melting impact for generations to remember. Famous dishes like Pyaaj Kachori, Mirchi Bada, Bikaneri Bhujia has been the spotlight dishes and an individual can never sum up to getting bored eating such dishes. Other showstopper dishes of Marwaris include Millet Bread (Bajra Ki Roti), Malpuas, Hot Garlic Paste(Lehsun ki Chutney), Rasgollas fro Bikaner, Panya and Gheriya from Mewar.

 The concept of Marwari Bhojnalaya has migrated from country to country and places to places by struggling hard to make their best availability of vegetarian dishes, Jain dishes which is basically termed as a  “no-garlic and no-onion dish”. Diwali not only binds the tastebuds but it also binds people from different continents. No matter where on earth you are you got to visit your hometown on this occasion. The festival comes with the onset of winters and this Hindu culture is based on sciences, the moon and season cycle which in other sense is pronounced as “tithi”. The worship can involve fastings, meal celebrations like dancing, singing, folk drama, games(indoor and outdoor).Cleanliness is next to Godliness says our society and we have preserved this for ages and generations to come.
